Plumely Studio is Plumely CRM's marketing toolkit — three free tools, not one video app. Edit a marketing video entirely in your browser, post a brief and get bids from people who'll make it for you on a commission-free marketplace, or build a quiz or survey and share the link. Each tool works on its own; none of them require the others.

Why the video editor is private by default
Most “free” online video editors work by uploading your raw footage to their servers. That means your unpublished clips — client work, classroom recordings, therapy sessions, footage of your family — sit on someone else’s infrastructure, subject to their retention policies, their security, and increasingly their AI-training terms. We thought that trade was backwards. Modern browsers are powerful enough to trim, denoise, caption, and re-encode video locally, so we built an editor that does exactly that and asks for nothing in return.
The result is a video editor that’s fast because there’s no round-trip to a server, private because your media never leaves the machine you’re sitting at, and genuinely free to start because you don’t need an account to edit or export.
How the video editor works, technically
All editing runs in-browser using WebAssembly and the WebCodecs API for decoding and encoding, with captions generated on-device. Your projects and imported media are stored locally through the browser’s Origin Private File System and IndexedDB — not in our cloud. If you open your browser’s network tab while you work, you’ll see zero bytes of your video going out. The only feature that ever transmits media is the optional high-accuracy caption mode, and only for the clip you explicitly choose.

How the marketplace works
Post a brief describing what you need — video work, writing, research, or a role to fill — and people bid on it directly. Or browse open briefs and pitch for the ones you want. Plumely introduces the two sides and stops there: no commission on the deal, no escrow holding the payment, and no cut of what you charge or pay. How the quiz & survey tool works
Build a quiz, assessment, or feedback survey, publish it, and share the link — no sign-up required for anyone taking it. Multiple-choice quizzes score automatically; you get the results as they come in. Create one to try it.

The video editor is built for people who make a lot of short video and care where it goes: solo creators and social teams, podcasters cutting clips, coaches and course-makers, and professionals in fields where footage is sensitive by default — teachers, therapists, lawyers, journalists, and real-estate agents. If you’ve ever hesitated to drag a file into an online tool because you weren’t sure what happens to it, that’s the hesitation we set out to remove. The marketplace is for the same businesses when what they need made isn’t something they can do themselves, and for the freelancers who make it. The quiz tool is for anyone who needs a scored assessment or a quick survey without building one from scratch.
How Plumely Studio stays free
The core editor is free and shows no ads. Plumely Studio is supported by an optional Premium subscription that unlocks the advanced AI and power tools — that’s the whole business model. We don’t show ads, we don’t sell data, we don’t build advertising profiles from your footage (we couldn’t, since we never receive it), and analytics, where enabled, are anonymous and product-focused. Frequently asked questions
Is the video editor really private?+
Yes. Your file is opened and processed entirely in your browser, on your device. There is no upload endpoint — your footage never touches a server. This only applies to the video tool: the marketplace and quiz tools do store data on our servers, since they involve other people (bids, messages, quiz responses) — see the Privacy Policy for what each one holds.
How is the video editor free?+
The core editor is free with no account required. Because everything runs on your device, there are no servers or cloud-processing bills for us to pass on to you.
What video formats are supported?+
Import MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and AVI. Export is a clean 1080×1920 MP4 (with a WebM fallback) — no conversion dance, no watermark.
Which browsers work?+
Chrome and Edge on desktop get the full experience first. Firefox, Safari and mobile are rolling out with automatic fallbacks.
Does the video editor work offline?+
Once installed as an app, fully. The engine is cached, so you can clean and caption a recording on a plane.
Do you train AI on my files?+
No — your files never leave your device, so there's nothing for us to collect or train on.
